I started this blog nearly a year ago and it somehow got swept aside in the current of my life in this year of our lord 2011. Now it comes back to me me because it occurs that I may be able to rethink and reinvent both this blog and in some small part, myself. For my friends and detractors who choose to read this missive, I ask a couple small considerations.
First, no critiquing here--even if I write the stupidest, most illiterate thing you have ever seem in print. This is simply my forum for blowing off steam and I don't care if you don't like it. If you don't like it get your own blog! The second thing--please take everything I say with a grain of salt or a tongue in cheek.
With that said, let me outline where this blog is going--or not. As of this moment this is a forum for what happens to be on my mind at the moment. I am considering using this format for a number of things.
1. My personal, unvarnished opinion of life in general and my own life specifically. Any resemblance to reality is purely coincidental and may well be plagiarism of someone else far more gifted than I. Hopefully, I will not get sued for it because I am a poor artist with no patron (or lawyer) who can ill afford to defend me.
2. I claim to be a modest (sometimes) artist with several talents, some of that may appear on this blog from time to time. My interests vary widely from writing to photography to knitting and maybe even an occasional gastronomic delight. I promise if I give out a recipe it will have been tested by me and found acceptable to my palate. That said, this will certainly be no Martha Stewart column. I have never been in jail and I do not count OCD among my personal neuroses. Besides, I am a confirmed slob--ask my husband. If I were to try to model myself after an American woman it would likely have be Erma Bombeck. If you don't know who she was ask your mother.
3. From time to time I may choose to voice my opinion and give out some political, philosophical, or spiritual truth that has been born out in my life and I find valuable. Keep in mind, this is only my humble opinion. There is at least a 50-50 chance I am dead wrong. Also please keep in mind I am what the GOP fondly calls, "A bleeding heart liberal!" I do listen to the other side of the opinion occasionally but only on the 5th and 8th Thursday of every month.
4. Occasionally you may have the opportunity to read some of my writing. Well, I have to get it into print somehow and I am to poor to support vanity press.
All that said, if you are still reading this you have probably either burned your dinner or you have now decided that the person writing this blog is at St. Elizabeth's in the room next to John Hinkley. Stop by and see me now and then, and drop me a line if you can understand what I am saying. Better yet, knock on my door and we will talk--you are probably also a resident of either St. Elizabeth's or maybe you are time traveling from Bedlam Hospital in Victorian times.
Hey- I live next to Hinkley-
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post- and your free thinking- keep it up sis- but...could you please do something about your header? Jester's Scribe, the paragraph below it is hard to read because of the photo behind it- can you shape that up a little because I would really LOVE to read every word you write! :)
Love you Sis-
